Capsule Geology

This Unuk Finger occurrence is located within one kilometre to the east of Unuk Finger Mountain peak. The area is mapped as volcanics of the Middle Jurassic Salmon River Formation, Hazelton Group (Assessment Report 30131). A stock of Eocene quartz monzonite occurs to the immediate south. Iron carbonate, quartz, pyrite, chalcopyrite and arsenopyrite are reported to occur in a wide zone of silicious phyllonite (Newmont Map).
